Rarepairs edition

What is a fanworks exchange event

Do we really need festivities or celebrations to exchange gifts?

A bit of a drawing/writing challenge, a bit of a secret santa and a bit of a character/ship themed week smashed into the blender altogether. The format was borrowed from the MSG Supply Drop event and successively modified with the help of the mods for the Golden Kamuy Fanworks Exchange. Now, with the help of the GK event's mod (that I thank immensely, bless them ♡) this exchange event was brought to life!Being an artist myself, I wanted to meet creatives' needs as much as possible in order to have a fandom event that won't push anyone beyond their own limits. We all know how hard it is to stick to a single prompt or inevitably ending up trying to fill all the daily ones in weekly/monthly challenges (not everyone, but for the most part, failing to finish everything in time). This wants to be a fun event free from close deadlines stress, where at the end we get to gift and receive a surprise artwork or fic based on the submitted prompts! A way to reunite not only artists and writers, but TokRev fans in general c:

How do I participate

READ COMPLETE RULES AND FAQ DOCUMENT
》HERE《

  • The gift exchange is completely anonymous, but writers/artists will have the option to reveal their names once their fills are posted.

  • To submit your requests/prompts, use this form!

  • You can submit up to 8 requests/prompts - although you don’t have to ask for all 8 or all at once! You can submit the form multiple times. Please don’t request more than 8 - leave room for other people too!

  • They can be either specific to a particular pairing or as generic as you like. You don’t need to submit a request in order to fill, and you don’t need to fill in order to make requests.

  • All prompts will be listed in The Big Request List. There will also be a Big Trigger-Free Request List, which will list only the non-potentially triggering requests/prompts.

  • The trigger-free list will be separated in 2 tabs: sfw and nsfw, so that it's easier to scroll through the sfw prompts alone.

  • Go as wild with your requests or generic prompts as you like - porn, fluff, canon-compliant, AU, anything goes. The only hard rule is to properly tag nsfw and dead dove requests/prompts so that they can be correctly filtered and avoided by people who wish to.

  • Minors are requested to not submit requests or fills for NSFW content - this is for your security AND the prompter’s.

  • To submit your fic fills: AO3 Collection

  • To submit your art fills: Google form

  • FOR THE EVENT you can fill as many or as few prompts as you like, up to a maximum of 8.

  • You can still work on fills indefinitely after the event ended and post them on your own accounts, if that’s your thing or you feel inspired. Make sure to tag or message me so I can retweet it and put you in contact with the person that made the request/prompter if they don't wish to remain anonymous!

  • The request list will be accessible at any moment and no requests/prompts will be deleted. Have fun!

ATTENTION!

IMPORTANT NOTE:kink shaming, harassment or otherwise offensive attitude towards any of the participants will not be tolerated to any extent. If you are seen to partake in any of this behaviour, you WILL be banned from the exchange and blocked. There is a Trigger-Free Request List for a reason - if you object to problematic content, this is the list for you.No one will be left out, every artist and writer has the right to have fun just as you do. You don’t have to agree with someone else's morals nor to approve of everything, just don’t be a dick:nsfw and problematic content will ALWAYS be tagged and can be avoided throughout the entire event, so there's no excuses.

Spoilers policy:This is not a spoiler free event! But I ask you to please preface your prompt with a spoiler tag if your prompt/request relates to manga chapters that aren't animated yet, in respect of anime-only fans. This is your only warning!

What qualifies as rarepair

Defining "rarepair" is always quite a difficult matter, as you have to keep into account a lot of different factors:○ Numerical imbalance between art and written works
○ Numerical imbalance between people shipping it and the available fanwork contents
○ Substantial differences between Western and Asian fandom's preferences, both for characters and tropes
○ Non-existent or inaccurate tagging on every platform and relative difficulties in finding the desired content when language barriers occur
○ Very subjective view on popularity based on the single person's experience online
What I would consider a rarepair might not be considered as such by someone else.To simplify, while also trying to make it fair for everyone, i will consider rarepair the ships with the following characteristics:

  • The ship is not canonical

  • The ship has less than 200 written works on AO3 FILTERED AS "OTP: TRUE". This is a mandatory requirement.

  • The ship is a polycule BUT none of the characters involved is put aside, neglected or left in the background just to focus on a main pairing between the ones excluded from the event.

  • The ship is a crackship. As unusual they might be, they're still rare!

  • The ship features an original character or selfshipping, being their popularity limited around the author/artist and therefore can't be considered among main pairings within the fandom.HOWEVER THEY CAN BE REQUESTED ONLY AS GENERIC PROMPTS aimed to everyone in general and not yourself specifically: no participants will be requested to share personal info of any kind or have denied their anonymity in the request list, therefore the prompt will be filled not for the requester but by authors/artists wanting to use it for themselves. Oc/selfshipping will be possible only within your own work as character x oc/reader fics or artworks featuring your own oc/yourself exclusively. Examples of prompts aimed for these pairings can be "you and your fictional other watching an horror movie" or "your oc and Mikey on a date" that can be interpreted openly (if your oc, for example, doesn't like Mikey the result could be catastrophic but also funny to create)

Ships that WILL NOT be included in THIS specific event edition, based on the criteria stated above:
(referred to the rules' creation day)

  • Baji/Chifuyu (674 filtered works)

  • Inupi/Koko (404 filtered works)

  • Kazutora/Chifuyu (353 filtered works)

  • Draken/Mikey (294 filtered works)

  • Hanma/Kisaki (257 filtered works)

  • Hinata/Takemichi (Canon pairing)

  • Emma/Draken (Canon pairing)

  • Pah chin/Yumi (Canon pairing)
